After receiving initial feedback from our partners, we're pleased to announce the successful implementation of the CS::BM corporate data warehouse and CS::BI analytical system at Moldindconbank, one of the largest and systemically important banks in the Republic of Moldova.
The transition to CBS B2 was the key element of the first stage of the large-scale MICB4YOU transformation program aimed at optimizing the bank's operating model and IT landscape.
From day one of the CBS B2 launch, data transfer commenced instantly into the CS::BM storage using CDC (Change Data Capture) technology, powered by Oracle Golden Gate. This efficient process allowed for a smooth project implementation, enabling over 15 bank departments to access essential data marts and analytical reports as early as the following day.
Serhiy Rachkov, Head of DWH/BI Department at CS:
It's worth highlighting the unique challenges we faced with this project, particularly the complexity of simultaneous launch of the CBS B2 system and the corporate data warehouse implementation. It is much easier to launch analytical reporting and storage when the source system is already working stably. In our case, we had to develop data marts and reports simultaneously with the system's launch.
Adopting an Agile approach was pivotal in this context. It enabled us to customize the processes of data loading and marts generation immediately after defining the accounting parameters and from the moment of commissioning new subsystems in CBS B2.
The CS team successfully tackled a series of challenges, including adapting data marts to the standards of the Republic of Moldova, expanding them with new attributes, and integrating the storage with external systems.
Collaborating with the Moldindconbank team enabled our specialists to understand and accommodate the bank's unique needs and the specificities of Moldova's banking sector, leading to the most effective solutions for various specialized tasks. For example, the implementation of the BUSINESS INDICATORS - MRTS (Managerial Reporting Transformation System) allowed Moldindconbank to generate managerial balance sheets and profit and loss (PnL) reports tailored to the bank's specific requirements. In total, more than 250 reports were developed for analytics purposes.
Project Manager, MiCB
Collaboration and focus on the study of needs allowed us to achieve simple and effective solutions that meet the business objectives. It is worth mentioning that the CS data storage and analytics integration team was always ready to provide qualified support and clarifications on emerging issues both on time and after implementation. Sharing experience, individual approach, proposed solutions based on modern practices allowed to successfully implement CS::BM data warehouse and CS::BI analytics system simultaneously with the launch of other CS products.
A significant aspect to note is that 75% of the reports were independently developed by the Moldindconbank team following their training by CS specialists. CS products, particularly the CS::BM data warehouse, are designed to enable self-development and customization by clients to meet their specific needs. At the same time, expert assistance from CS is readily accessible whenever it's required.
The flexibility and adaptability of CS solutions enabled Moldindconbank to quickly leverage the enhanced capabilities provided by the combination of the CS::BM data warehouse and the CS::BI analytical system. Seamless database integration with both the CBS B2 and external sources opens up new horizons for the bank in making informed decisions and optimizing business processes.
CS continues to support Moldindconbank in subsequent stages of the transformation program, helping to tackle current tasks and implement new software products.
